latemate partner programme
Partner terms and creator guide
The standard terms are below. Your own agreed terms are on your partner page, and those apply where they differ.
The standard terms
- Commission
- 40% of what each customer you refer actually pays for their latemate subscription
- What counts
- Subscription payments collected, excluding VAT, discounts, account credit, refunds and chargebacks. Never the free month, and never the compensation passengers get from train companies.
- For how long
- 12 months from the customer’s first paid subscription payment
- Who’s yours
- Someone who signs up within 30 days of following your link (the first partner’s link they followed counts), or who types your code when signing up. Existing latemate customers don’t count.
- When it’s payable
- 30 days after each payment, so refunds can be taken into account
- Payouts
- Monthly, once your payable balance is at least £25.00. Less than that rolls over to the next month.
How it works
- The programme is by invitation. You accept your terms when you accept your invitation, and again when your terms change. A change only applies to payments from its start date; what you’ve earned keeps the terms it was earned on.
- Commission is worked out on each subscription payment, in pence, and rounded down to the penny. Partial refunds take back the same share of that payment’s commission.
- Refunds and chargebacks are taken off your balance even after you’ve been paid: the next payout is smaller, or the balance carries forward until it’s positive again.
- You can’t refer yourself, your own accounts, or latemate’s test accounts. Customers who share details with you (a household, say) are looked at by a person, not refused automatically.
- We may pause your partnership (your link stops bringing new customers, and what existing customers pay still earns as agreed), hold payouts while we look into a problem with you, or end it for a breach of these terms. When it ends, nothing more is earned from then on; what was earned before is settled with you.
- Payouts are monthly, by bank transfer or another method we agree, once your payable balance is at least the minimum. Your bank details never go on this site: we’ll ask for them securely.
- Think something’s wrong? Email info@latemate.app. A person looks at every dispute and replies with what we found.
Creator guide
- Label it as an ad. Put “Ad” at the start of every post, story or video that promotes latemate (it’s the law for paid promotion: see the ASA’s and CMA’s guidance for influencers), and say that you earn commission when people subscribe.
- latemate isn’t a train company. Don’t suggest it’s run by, or approved by, National Rail or any train company.
- No guarantees. The train company decides whether to pay compensation, and how much. Don’t promise anyone money back.
- Claiming yourself is free. Say that anyone can claim Delay Repay directly from their train company for free; latemate is a paid service that does it for you.
- Be accurate about train companies. latemate sends claims for you with Southeastern; with other train companies it gets your claim ready for you to send. Don’t say every operator works the same way.
- The price. The first month is free with no card needed, then £1.99 a month, cancel any time. Don’t offer discounts or rewards latemate hasn’t agreed.
- No spam or tricks. No paid search ads on latemate’s name, no fake reviews, no hiding your link behind other links, and no pressure to sign up.
